Ruby's Blog | Gifts for the Wedding Party

Hello Bride & Groom’s To Be!

I’m Ruby the Rochester Bride! As a newlywed of the Rochester area, I love sharing my knowledge of the wedding experience with newly engaged couples. This week I can’t wait to share with you some ideas for wedding party gifts!

Bridesmaids:
{1}Robes: Get personalized robes for all your bridesmaids, so they have something to wear while getting ready for the big day.
{2}Tote bags: Tote bags filled with little items that each of your individual bridesmaids will love is a great gift. Add some essentials for the actual wedding day too!
{3} Jewelry: Any type of jewelry is a sentimental gift to give to your bridesmaids. You could also make it a little more personal by getting the jewelry engraved with their initials or first name.
{4} Spa Day: Your bridesmaids have been by your side and worked hard to make sure your day will be as special as possible, so now you all deserve some pampering! Head to the spa, and give your ladies a gift certificate or pay for their treatments while you're all there.
{5} Wine Glasses: For the bridesmaids that love to party, get them fun wine glasses! These gifts are perfect because there are so many ways they can be personalized to match each of your friends.

Groomsmen:
{1} Army Knife: For your "manly man" friends, a pocket army knife would be a fun gift! You can get them engraved with each groomsmen's name as well.
{2} Mug: Get your guys a beer mug with their favorite team on it! This will show you appreciate them, even if they routinely root against your team.
{3} Flask: A flask is a classic and great groomsman gift.  Pair it with their favorite bottle for something extra special.
{4} Shaving kit: You want your groomsmen to look their best on the big day, so get them a personalized shaving kit. They can have it for the wedding, and continue to use it after as well!
{5} Pocket watch: They may be considered old fashioned, but pocket watches are still a special and classy gift.

Flower Girl:
{1} Camera: Everyone is going to be taking picture at the wedding, and you don't want your flower girl to feel left out!  Giver her a cute, disposable or digital camera that she can use of the big day.
{2} Star Bracelet: Show your flower girl that she is a star, and has an important job on your wedding day.
{3} Stool: She is going to want to get all dolled up just like the big girls, so a custom painted stool will be a fun gift for your flower girl to use.
{4} Stuffed Animal: Stuffed animals are always popular among little girls, so get her favorite animal dressed as a flower girl too! This is a gift she is sure to treasure.

Ring Bearer:
{1} Sports Apparel: You can’t go wrong with sports. Have a ball from your ring bearers favorite sport custom made with his name on it.
{2} Harmonica: Little boys love to make noise, so give him something that will help him make noise in a musical way!
{3} Piggy Bank: Decorate or purchase a piggy bank just for you ring bearer. Boys love to find lose change, and now he will have somewhere to keep it all!
{4} Silver Yo Yo: Giving the ring bearer something to play with before and after the wedding is always a good idea.
{5} Sheriff Badge: Kids love to feel in charge. Give your ring bearer a personalized sheriff badge made just for him.

Just remember, the members of your bridal party give a lot of their time and money to be a part of your special day, so saying Thank You with any kind of token is important! Keep in mind their personalities & your budget as a couple.

Trend Tuesday | Wedding Party Photos

Wedding party photos are an important part of any bride and groom’s special day. Recently, they have become more and more of a focal point to capture unique and memorable wedding party moments. Photographers are working hard to make sure your photos are telling a great story and are different from ones we have seen before. As seen in this picture by Ross Weddings, the photographer created a dramatic look through the black and white editing and kept the focus on the bride. You can find more of their work at www.rossweddings.com. See the rest of this post for more ideas on how to make your wedding party photos tell a story.

{1} Dramatic Landscape: This photographer used the dramatic landscape in the background to make this photo so special. With so much going on, the main focus of the picture is still the bride and groom. Our favorite part is the colors of the bridal party and the landscape mixing so well together!

{2} Hats Off to the Bride & Groom: What’s a more unique and fun picture than hats off to the newlyweds!? We love this photo by Erica Camille. If you are having a beach wedding, this might be a picture you want to capture.

{3} Pre-Wedding Fun: Get rid of those pre-wedding jitters by letting loose with your bridal party! Your photographer will be able to capture some great shots of the people who mean the most to you on your special day! These can be adorable gifts to give your bridesmaids as a thank you after the wedding.

{4} The Bridesmaid Pose: We love this picture of the groomsmen doing the bridesmaid pose with their bouquets! It’s a traditional picture for the bridesmaids to take, but an unexpected and uniform picture for the groomsmen!

Trend Tuesday | Ring Bearer Ideas

If you have a special little boy to have in your wedding party, chances are he will melt your guests hearts. This adorable picture is by Lori and Erin Photography.  To see more of their work visit their website at www.lorianderin.com. Here we have some different ideas of how your ring bearer can steal the show!

{1} The Forgetful Ring Bearer: As your guests can see, your ring bearer (more than likely) is young, and pretty much just doing what he is told. This sign is adorable and humorous all at the same time, and is sure to get your guests smiling.

{2} The Impatient Ring Bearer: With a young ring bearer, brings a big stomach and little patience. This sign is all too honest, yet innocent enough where it is still comical. A sign like this one is perfect if you have more than one young boy in your family and cannot narrow it down to just one, as this gives the other something to hold as well.

{3} Playing Dress Up: Often young kids do not see the joy in a wedding ceremony.  Here's a way to get them to behave; tell them they are ring security and have them dress the part. Your ring bearer will feel important and as if he is dressing up, it will be a hit!

{4} Stud Muffin: If your ring bearer is simply undeniably cute, what better way to express that than with a sign showing him off. This sign is sure to make all the women saw "aww" and all the men high five him.

{5} Furry Ring Bearer: Is your favorite family member four legged and covered with fur? Then you should probably use your dog for your ring bearer! He may not have hands, but his collar can hook on a pair of rings or even a box made for this occasion.
