Ruby's Blog | Centerpieces

Hello Bride & Groom’s To Be!

I’m Ruby the Rochester Bride! As a newlywed of the Rochester area, I love sharing my knowledge of the wedding experience with newly engaged couples. This week I can’t wait to share with you some fun ways to pick out the perfect centerpieces for your wedding!

{1} Picking The Arrangement: To get an idea of what kind of centerpiece you would like to have at your wedding, look through different bridal magazines, wedding blogs, Pintrest, or get input from your friends and family! Centerpieces should match the overall theme you want for your wedding as well as reflect your tastes.

{2} Setting A Budget: Centerpieces are a major decor piece, so they can be pricey. Talk with your wedding planner and/or florist about some of the ideas you have for your centerpieces, and let them know your budget right away. Don’t let someone talk you into decor that is way out of your price range! You can have beautiful centerpieces for any price.

{3} Supplies: If you plan on making your own centerpieces than you going to need to have sure you have all the supplies you need! You will be able to find editorials online that give you step-by-step instructions, and you should be able to find whatever you want at any craft store!

{4} Flower Arrangements: If you plan on using fresh flowers for your wedding, make sure to have vases with water in them to keep them fresh before the wedding. You would also need to keep them in a cooler to help keep them fresh. Also think about what type of vase would go nicely with you choice of flowers.  Once you have the idea of what flowers you would like, you need to think about what kind of vase you would go well with them, like tall, short, square, round, etc. Don't forget to practice at least one centerpiece a couple weeks before the wedding to make sure they will turn out exactly how you want them!

{5} Candle Centerpiece: Adding candles to your centerpiece will create a romantic and intimate look! Get different size candles to create a unique look for your tablescape. Don't forget you could also fill vases with water for floating candles. so the centerpiece flows better on the table or different size vase to put the candles on or in.

Trend Inspiration | Scrabble Letters

When it comes to creative wedding ideas, Scrabble letters seem to be all the rage! We love this photo spelling out ‘love’ using the wedding ring and Scrabble letters, photographed by Ultimate Images. Check out their website, www.uiphoto.com, for more great shots like this. Here are some more ideas for how to incorporate scrabble letters into your wedding!

{1} Guest Book: Use a Scrabble board and letters as a guest book! Let your guests get creative and have fun.

{2} Cake Topper: Simple but still looks put together, a cake topper that resembles a sign is perfect for a vintage chic wedding.

{3} Table Numbers: Make your own oversized Scrabble letters for table signs that are large enough to see from far away.

{4} Centerpieces: Using fake flowers? Fill the bottom of your vases with letters for a fun touch. Guests can even use these at their table for games, keeping with the theme!

{5} Favors: Instead of food favors, give out magnet word scrambles using Scrabble letters. Your guests can actually use these at home for their refrigerator.

Not only does the location tie a beach wedding all together, but the small details throughout the wedding do too. We love this wedding picture photographed by Robin Fox Photography! Check them out at www.RobinFoxPhotography.com for other great shots!

{1} Center Pieces: Using starfish and candles adds to a casual atmosphere for your table centerpieces.

{3} Bouquet: Love beach flowers and seashells? This bouquet is perfect for a simplistic bride.

{4} Invitations: Set the mood of your wedding early. These invites are sure to tell your guests it is a beach wedding.

{5} Place Cards: Make mini message-in-a-bottles for your guests not only to keep as a favor but also guide them to their table.
