Hello Bride & Groom’s To Be!
I’m Ruby the Rochester Bride! As a newlywed of the Rochester area, I love sharing my knowledge of the wedding experience with newly engaged couples. This week I can’t wait to share with you some ideas for savvy wedding spending!
{1} Pre-owned Dress: Wedding dresses are a very important part of your big day, but you don’t need to break the bank to find a beautiful gown! Hit up a local consignment shop, or look online for pre-owned gowns.
{2} Family Jewelry: I love this idea for saving money on your big day while still keeping tradition! Ask your mother or grandmother to borrow some of their jewelry so you won’t need to buy new pieces. This can also count as your “something borrowed” or “something old.”
{3} DIY Wedding Favors: Add a personal touch by making DIY wedding favors for you guests. Pick something you and your finance love, and create them together!
{4} Dessert Options: Wedding cakes are beautiful, but they can also be pricey! Instead, go for a smaller, decorated wedding cake for display, and then have alternative desserts for your guests.
{5} Brunch Wedding: There are certain times of year where getting married is just downright cheaper, however the weather in Rochester does not always cooperate with these off-season weddings. If you want to get married during the summer, go for a brunch wedding! They are still classy and fun, but they are cheaper and a little more relaxed versus a standard dinner reception.
There are many ways to still have your dream wedding while staying inside your budget. Good luck planning!
