Hello Bride & Groom’s To Be!

I’m Ruby the Rochester Bride!  As a newlywed of the Rochester area, I love sharing my knowledge of the wedding experience with newly engaged couples.  This week I can’t wait to share with you my top six reasons why you should plan an engagement session:

{1} Wedding Day Ready: It’s so important that you and your finance get in front of the camera before your wedding.  The process of taking engagement photos will help you to be comfortable in front of the camera, and will help your wedding day photos come out beautifully natural.

{2} Save The Dates: Photo save the dates are so popular today!  Use your engagement photos as the perfect reminder to your guests of your special day.

{3} Photographer Prep: Picking the right wedding vendors can sometimes feel like a stab in the dark.  But doing an engagement photo shoot will help reassure your day will go seamlessly.  You will learn how your photographer communicates so you can take direction better and see how their photos turn out with you in them!

{4} Personalized Décor: What’s more personalized than a photo of you at your wedding?  Use your engagement photos as décor on your special day.  Whether it be a slide show, table numbers, or cocktail table centerpieces, your engagement photos will be that personalized touch you’re looking for.

{5} Everyday Photos: Many times, your wedding photos may be the only professional pictures you take together for years on end.  It’s nice to have professional shots outside of the wedding dress and tux.

{6} Your Favorite Spot: With a rigorous wedding day timeline, many couples don’t get to take photos outside of the ceremony and reception venues.  The engagement shoot is the perfect time to get photos in a spot you might not be able to fit in on your special day.

I hope you will get a chance to snap some professional shots during your engagement.  While I love my wedding photos, my engagement shoot was one of my favorite parts of planning my wedding!
